Hi everyone
I was figuring out how to connect Google cloud with Tableau desktop. (Before this steps make sure you are downloading the right drivers for your SQL version)
I was able to connect the data base on the Tableau Cloud version but not on Desktop (that means that something was odd on Google cloud) turns out that you have to grant permission to YOUR OWN IP ADDRESS as well as your Tableau Cloud server IP ADDRESS in Google cloud
On Google Cloud select your instance, then go to Connections then to Networking and upload your Tableau cloud IP as well as yours, you can find your own IP Address in the following page https://ip.me/
As a final step, on Google Cloud go to Security, then Firewall policies, then on VPC firewall check on the Tableau's IP and turn "On" Configure logs- This is for the connection to work on Tableau Cloud as far as I understand
Hope this works!
Best
