Google Maps API - computeRoutes

so, there are two end points from google I would really like to know the difference between them 1.https://routespreferred.googleapis.com/v1:computeRoutes and 2.https://routes.googleapis.com/directions/v2:computeRoutes the two API looks pretty much the same can anyone please help me to know what is the difference and if the v1:computeRoutes one is obsolete

So currently I want to confirm if I am using the right API. if anyone has used v1:computeRoutes, please help to know the correct request and response.
