signed embedding url for a dashboard

I tried to generate a signed embedding url for a Looker explore from the UI, and everything went well

Now, I'm trying to generate a signed embedding url for a Looker dashboard using the UI

When I go to the generated url, I get the error:

That page doesn't exist or you don't have permission to view it.
If the URL is correct, check with your admin to make sure you have the correct permissions.

When I test the generated url with the Embed URI Validator, it tells me that the signed url is good (but it's not)

Any idea what's happening?

I would suggest the first things to check are to ensure that the embed user has the permission to view the dashboard you are linking to, and also double check that the name of the content is correct in the embed URL. Also, always test the embed URL in an incognito window so that the browser isn't confused about who is actually connecting to Looker.

Problem solved, I had to:

Put the embed users in a group
Put the embedded dashboard in a folder
Change the permissions of the folder to give the embed users group access

The documentation is really not clear about this. They should definitely add a section on this one!
