Running into a crazily annoying issue where I can't edit a duplicated tile unless I save the dashboard first. This has only started in the last week or so, and I'm getting reports of the same issue from other teammates. We're on version 25.0.23
I would like to be able to:
What I'm having to do is:
Here is a screen recording of the issue: https://youtu.be/19b1R84J_Qs
That does sound like a bug - do you have access to support to get this reported and fixed?
Will support actually be able to do anything? It has been a dead end in the
past.

Support can investigate, suggest workarounds if they exist, and will try to reproduce the issue so that the engineering team are in a position to fix it. They are not in a position to fix issues themselves, so sometimes there can be a long lag between a customer reporting an issue and the engineering team getting it prioritised and ultimately fixed. But if nobody informs support of the issue, the path to resolution is never begun.
Just in case anyone lands here and sees this, support took the information, passed it to the engineering team, and told me that since there's a workaround that's about all they can do.
Dealing with the same and its so insanely frustrating
Running into this to - pretty unacceptable response - has anyone had any better luck with looker support on this?
This is also driving me crazy. Even when I save and then re-edit, I usually can't actually edit the tile (it just hangs on the 'Loading Explore...' page).
I have tried to work around this by coming out of edit mode, clicking on the tile actions menu for the tile I want to edit, and selecting 'Explore from here' (so that I can edit the query, and then select the option to save to an existing dashboard). But even this fails, as when I try to Explore from the tile I get an error message saying I don't have permission! I am an Admin, I definitely do have permission.
I cannot overstate how much this is adding to my time spent developing dashboards. Really simple changes can take ages, because I am repeatedly refused permission to edit the tile.
Please can you prioritise fixing this bug? It edges Looker toward being unusuable.
...and as of the last 30 minutes, whenever I edit a dashboard tile that is a merged query, Looker deletes the merged queries from the merged query editor, so I am only left with the source query!
FYI Looker's latest release appears to address this (25.8): "An issue has been fixed where duplicating a dashboard tile and editing it could cause the tile to load indefinitely. This feature now performs as expected.". I sure hope this solves the exact issue here
