Row totals not applying conditional formatting

​​​​Avg Age Row Totals not applying Conditional Formatting

In the above, I’ve added row totals to calculate the avg age (in days) for child and parent events.  The conditional formatting applies to avg age, as in, green if <= 7 days and red > 7 days. 

In the Visualization edit options, I’ve applied the conditional formatting to totals, as reflected in the ‘Total’ avg age.  The row totals, however, do not respect the formatting rules.   

Any idea how to accomplish formatting the row totals?
