Well now that Google has acquired AppSheet, they have vastly more resources at their disposal and this should be doable in some way, shape or form. For example, in my case, my users will almost never be using apps without an Internet connection. There can be some sort of setting/configuration for the app that allows the developer to define it as an app that is primarily used online or offline. That can then control what features can or can’t be used and how they are used.

Google Sheets works online and offline so in theory Appsheet should be able to leverage nearly the same methodology. Should be up to the user/developer on “collision avoidance”. Even if the methodology is not ideal, users and developers can workaround and handle the issues. If Appsheet teaches you anything its how make a workaround that fits your needs. Release a feature and they will make workarounds is the Appsheet equivalent to build it and they will come.

But excuse me, but to insist on one use a direction such as the use (on mobile) offline of the application, giving up the realTime update, it’s like giving up the electric motor for hybrid cars because you might run out battery. I don’t think you’re heading in the right direction. But that’s just my opinion.

I think you have the understand backwards. It would be like giving up a gas motor for an electric one because its more efficient. The current system has a functionality and works just fine in more cases than not. There is plenty of up side to the switch and it will likely come at some point but there is also extreme headache in changing the fundamental structure that currently would be too great. It’s exchanging functionality not removing and in Appsheets eyes this is not equivalent exchange. There are some devs that probably plan to have apps used almost exclusively offline. Eventually they will find the ability to have both at which point we’ll have our perfect hybrid for short trips and long haul journeys.

I agree that this is essential. We were using a spreadsheet to manage real-time data and switched to appsheet - everything is better in appsheet, except the "instant download" that exists in google spreadsheets (you can see changes live) while in AppSheet I have to keep auto-refreshing or wait 30 minutes to see "server-side" changes. I am currently looking at switching to another tool, because instantly seeing changes as they occur (new  or changed data) is essential in my application and not possible in AppSheet
