Card type inline view

I feel like the Card-type inline views, when using a list of ref values in a column that is displaying in a detail view, could get some design upgrades that would make this feature super usefull. 

I think that the main issue for using this view type in a list column is that when you are in the detail view getting the preview of the elements in the list as a Card-type view, if there are too few elements (1-3) the detail view leaves a huge empty space before getting to the "view" button where you can navigate to a display of all the elements in the view and, in the other hand, when there are several elements in the list (6+) it displays all of the elemnts making the Detail view too long and the user has to scroll down for a while before getting to the "view" button. 

It would be great ff the size of the list-type column that holds the Card view can be auto-adjusted to the size of the elements in the list and also display a max number of elements in the preview when being in the Detail view. Or, in my opinion, it would be a better user experience if, when being nested in a Detial view, the elements of the card view scroll right-to-lef instead of up and down, as in the Gallery-type view when nested in Detail views. 

Note: This is all using the "large" layout of the Card type view.
