Community section for designated commercial topics

I am new to Appsheet, so this might already exist, but I haven’t seen it. I think it would be good to have a specific section in this community for commercial discussions. App creators could in this section discuss the commercial aspect of Appsheet. This would make this community a bit more holistic IMHO, and I am sure Appsheet as a product would benefit from enabling users to discuss all things Appsheet and not only focus on the technical aspects of the product.

As an example, I am using Appsheet because I am not a “real” developer, but I have an idea for an app that I think might work. However, because I am not from the IT industry, I don’t know if it is commercially viable with Appsheet’s current pricing model (as I understand it). It would be good to discuss this with other more experienced Appsheet developers/business owners to get a better understanding of how they:

  • Price their apps

  • If Appsheet as a product with its pay per user pricing model is suitable to use for a payroll app that will have several hundreds of user. And idf it is, how did they structure their app/data to be as cost effective as possible?

The above are just a couple of question I would like to discuss with others related to my specific app. If a place to discuss questions like the above already exists, please let me know. If it doesn’t, please consider creating one.

Not a bad suggestion

  • have you checked this out?

There’s a fair collection of people that have joined, including many OGs that might have the insight you’re looking for

Thanks for sharing that post @MultiTech_Visions! I will definitely join the channel for my own personal questions.

This shows to me that the need for a more commercially focused forum do exist. I personally think it would be better if Appsheet had its own formal channel. This would also make it easier for people to know it exist. As an example, I would never had known that that Slack channel exist if it wasn’t for you, but I could easily find the Questions section of the community without any external help.

I agree with you 100%.

Now that AppSheet is becoming a more well-known player in the game, and there’s more people using it as a means to generate income and support themselves, it totally makes sense to have a place for all this.

Is the Slack mentioned by @MultiTech still active? The links just lead to error pages.

Hey @dbaum , yes the Slack channel is still active, but the invite links expire after 30 days.

Here's an updated link:

Thanks a lot, @GreenFlux. I'm in, and will see you on Slack.

FYI, I was referencing not just the Slack link, which I knew expires after some period, but also the link in MulitTech's first reply above to your ATTN FREELANCERS! Looking for work? Need somewhere to send overflow work? Join us on Slack! post seemingly elsewhere in the community.

@dbaum , I posted that in the old Discourse community. It looks like the post wasn't migrated over properly. I can't even open the link and it's my post. I just get an 'Access Denied' page.

Feel free to join the Slack group though. There's a channel specifically for freelancing.
