Deploying Cloud Functions v2 using Deployment Manager

Hello Google Cloud Community,

I hope everyone is doing well.

I'm currently working on a project where I need to deploy Cloud Functions v2. I have been using Deployment Manager for other services, and I find it very efficient. However, I haven't been able to find clear documentation or examples on how to deploy Cloud Functions v2 using Deployment Manager.

Is it possible to deploy Cloud Functions v2 using Deployment Manager? If so, could anyone provide guidance or examples on how to achieve this?

Hi @gcamposhyl,

While there’s no official guide on how to deploy Cloud Function v2 using Deployment Manager, this feature might be:

• Supported (or planning to support): Since there’s a v2beta sample app in GitHub. You can start with it and see if it still applies.
• Not yet supported: As this is not listed on the supported resources and v2 is not yet implemented as Google Cloud type providers.

Recommendation: Follow alternative options below in deploying Cloud Function 2nd gen:

• Deploy Cloud Functions using these options: Official guide for deploying Cloud Function 2nd gen.
• Deploy using Cloud build: Follow the public guide or check out the sample snippet from a community member.
• Deploy using Terraform: Setup guide created by @Ray Sainiz. Here’s some example use cases.
• Note that this is from a third-party link and not being maintained by Google. Please use with caution.
