Interpreting the Google SAS Heat Map

Hello SAS folks,

I am trying to determine if a CBSD deployed on the Verrazzano Narrows Bridge would get a grant.  There is a big chunk of the area around Staten Island and Brooklyn that show no color on the heat map, and it comes back with no spectrum, but with the proviso of "results may vary near water."  This would be deployed on the bridge for an event.  Is this an aberration, or does it reflect reality regarding getting a grant?

Thanks

Hi there!

Spectrum availability can vary depending on your CBSD's installation parameters, especially this close to the coast. The easiest way to get the most accurate data would be to create CBSD configuration in the SAS Portal at the location (with installation parameters matching what you would hope to use in reality). You could then check the values listed under Power today for each channel in the Channel Ranking of the Coex tab. These values would reflect the power levels the SAS would be able to approve for immediate transmission on the first day a grant is requested.
