Make sure all fields are correct to continue

I was just doing a simple edit to the Startup script of my Compute VM instance in the Console window, and now I get this "Make sure all fields are correct to continue" message that prevents me from saving the changes. Even if I cancel and go back into Edit, and make NO changes, it does the same. It appears at the top of the console with red background and exclamation mark but gives no indication what should be corrected. I literally cannot make any changes to my VM now.  And this happened all of a sudden. I had successfully edited the VM just minutes before. Does anyone have any ideas? Thanks.

I can confirm that this issue exists. It has also affected me. I cannot Edit any of my instances due to some non-visible form input not having a valid value. Trying to save always throws the same error: Make sure all fields are correct to continue.

Hi @SantiAco in your case is it also a Spot VM?

I don't know if I replied to this correctly. The answer is yes, I am using
SpotVMs at the time being. I have one left, a bit delicate that I wished I
could edit but the error does not allow it

Yes, I have not checked any other instance at the moment. The only one I know is failing ATM is a SpotVM

Ok. I have been having the same issue, and sure enough, the one vm that isn't a spot vm is the only vm I can make changes on. The rest (4 spot vms) won't even let me save if I haven't made any changes.

Edit: I tried the cli, and it let me make a change to a spot vm. I went back into the console afterward, and verified it was there. I still wasn't able to make changes in the console though.

Here's the link to the compute cli documentation. Remember to set your zone and region like it says at the top. It makes the rest of the commands a lot easier.

Hi all,

This issue should now be resolved. It was specific to spot instances but should be working again now.

All the best,

Alex

See https://issuetracker.google.com/issues/256891023 for official ticket. Fixed now.

Hi alexmoore,

This problem is still happening, I am trying to edit a SQL database from single zone availability to multi-zone availability and it tells me 'Make sure all fields are correct to continue' when I try to save my changes.

😞

Hi @prisonbooks I think perhaps you have a slightly different issue, this was specific to editing VM values on Spot VMs, not related to SQL.  Perhaps raise a new post with more details about the issue you are encountering?
