I'm writing to report an issue that has persisted since 2021. I have projects appearing in my Google Cloud Console that I did not create and have no permissions for:
1. "you-can-see-this-project"
2. "brave-watch-314519"
This is a known issue that was deliberately demonstrated in the GCE discussion group (gce-discussion@googlegroups.com) in 2021. A user named Jofre created "you-can-see-this-project" specifically to demonstrate how the minimal permissions required to get projects listed in someone's console works.
When I check my permissions using the Troubleshooter tool for these projects, I get:
Principal: xxxxxxxxxxxxxx
Resource: brave-watch-314519 (please don't tell me not to post that as it is the PROBLEM not a legit project)
Missing permissions: resourcemanager.projects.getIamPolicy
This confirms I have no meaningful access to these projects, yet they continue to appear in my project selector. The mechanism appears to be that someone granted minimal visibility permissions to the Google Group I was subscribed to, or maybe everyone.
This issue was documented in multiple issue tracker threads:

- https://issuetracker.google.com/195428070
Despite being reported in 2021, the issue persists in 2025 with no way for users to hide these unwanted projects from their console.
I'm requesting:
1. These projects be removed from my view
2. Implementation of a feature to hide projects where I have minimal permissions
3. A review of the permission model that allows this behavior
Thank you for addressing this long-standing issue.
