Using gsutil to move <1TB file flags security systems and suspends a project.

Hi,

Two of my projects have been suspended while I was using gsutil to move files (<500GB altogether) between GCS buckets in two accounts or between a VM boot disc and GCS.

I've used gsutil cp, which is a recommended way as per this document.

What might I have missed? How to prevent project suspension?

Apologies for what happened to your project.

Based on this documentation on Google Cloud project suspension, your project was suspended as it may have violated its Terms of Service and Acceptable Use Policy. Don't worry as this is not your fault as our system might have mistakenly suspend your project.

Usually, suspended projects receive an email to file an appeal. If you haven't you could check this link on how to file an appeal through the Cloud Console. Please make sure that you are signed in as the project owner.

Finally, you could reach out to Cloud Customer Support team so that they could provide proper resolution in resolving this kinds of issue.
