Why do I have many unknow disk images in my GCP project?

Hi there,

I find there are hundreds of public disk images in my project, most of them have names releated to AI, ie .c2-deeplearning-pytorch-1-11-cu113-v20220701-debian-10 

What are these for? Do they cost money and can I delete them?

Hi @WayneLin ,

That's a Google-provided public image[1] for Deep Learning VMs[2].

Public images available for use by you, but they aren't IN your project, and there's no storage cost to you. But when you create a VM by using a public image (e.g., by clicking Create Instance at the top of the page that you shared), then you'll start incurring charges for the VM that you created.

Note that for public images, the Archive size field on the Images page in the console will not show any size, and the Created by field will not show your project name, as shown in this screenshot:
