Hi,

Using cloud sync to upload mp4 files to google cloud from my Synology NAS appears to working OK.

That said when trying to view the files via download option from the console app the files appear to all be corrupted.

I can view the files locally on the NAS but the upload is corrupting the files.

Anybody experience this issue before?

Thank you

Hi @qgk,

Welcome to Google Cloud Community!

It sounds like you are experiencing some issues with corrupted MP4 files after uploading them to Google Cloud from your Synology NAS. There could be several potential reasons for this problem, but I will try to provide some general troubleshooting steps that may help you identify and resolve the issue.

First, it is important to determine whether the issue is with the original files on your NAS or if it is happening during the upload process to Google Cloud. You mentioned that you are able to view the files locally on the NAS without any issues, so it is possible that the files are becoming corrupted during the transfer process to Google Cloud.

To troubleshoot this issue, you could try uploading a smaller MP4 file to Google Cloud and see if the issue persists. If the smaller file uploads without any problems, then the issue may be related to the size or format of the files you are trying to upload. You could also try using a different file transfer method or protocol (such as FTP or SFTP) to see if that resolves the issue.

Another potential cause of corrupted MP4 files could be an issue with the encoding or compression of the files. It is possible that the original files on your NAS were compressed or encoded in a way that is not compatible with the Google Cloud storage service. You could try re-encoding the files using a different codec or compression format to see if that resolves the issue.

It may also be worth checking the logs or error messages in the Google Cloud console app to see if there are any indications of what might be causing the file corruption. You could also try contacting Google Cloud Support for assistance if you are unable to resolve the issue on your own.

Thanks
