The Arcade Base Camp – June 2025
Welcome to Base Camp, where every level is designed to boost your practical cloud skills through hands-on labs and real-life scenarios. We're also thrilled to announce that introductory level labs are now available in Spanish and Portuguese, making cloud learning more accessible than ever!
Arcade Level 1: Application and Network Infrastructure
This level offers practical experience in deploying applications and managing cloud infrastructure on Google Cloud. You'll gain hands-on skills launching applications using App Engine and Dataflow across various languages like PHP, Go, and Python. The labs also cover designing and managing Virtual Private Cloud (VPC) networks, controlling access, and optimizing performance and cost with tools such as internal load balancers and Cloud CDN. Crucially, you'll learn to automate infrastructure deployment and maintain state across environments using Terraform, providing a strong foundation for building scalable and efficient applications.
Arcade Level 2: Data Exploration, Automation, and Performance
Dive into effective data exploration, management, and visualization, alongside practical task automation and performance testing on Google Cloud. You'll work with tools like Looker and Looker Studio to model data, create derived tables, and build impactful dashboards for insights into billing and usage. The level also explores data governance with Data Catalog and service discovery using Service Directory. For automation, you'll set up scheduled jobs with Cloud Scheduler and utilize Kubernetes for distributed load testing. Additionally, you'll learn to test network latency between VMs and earn an exclusive Google Cloud Credential!
Arcade Level 3: AI Readiness
This challenge is your opportunity to sharpen your skills with the power of Generative AI, whether you're aiming for certifications or just want to assess your progress. You'll engage in Gen AI-powered reviews tailored to key Google Cloud certifications such as Generative AI Digital, Data Practitioner, Cloud Developer, and DevOps Engineer. Conclude your journey with fun, fast quizzes to test your knowledge and identify areas for improvement, providing a smarter and more focused way to prepare and continue your strong journey in the cloud!
