Learn to Earn Cloud Data Challenge: An update, and tomorrow's tracks!

Hi everyone! 

Dropping a note here with an update. We've seen a few lab troubles popping up. You may notice labs taking longer than expected as you wrap up the current tracks. 

We've modified specific labs to unblock folks, and we're continuing to make adjustments as we receive data. We made this change earlier today (a few hours ago), so you may have already achieved your green ✅ and moved on. If you were having trouble earlier today or over the weekend, please give it another try and let us know how it goes.  

Thanks for the reports - I truly appreciate all feedback, and your comments here helped us pinpoint where to focus our efforts.

Thank you for providing an update. Unfortunately, it is still inoperable. I'm trapped in the following lab. Could you please check the two labs listed below?

MLOps with Vertex AI
-status PipelineState.PIPELINE_STATE_PENDING

Building and Deploying Machine Learning Solutions with Vertex AI: Challenge Lab (it's taking a too long time to complete than the required time. ) As a result, Lab ended.

I am currently facing the same problems. Unfortunately There are multiple problems with multiple labs and my interaction with the chat help desk was futile. The problems keep increasing continuously. Each lab requires at least 1 hour and we have no clue that there are problems till it is too late. I really do not see how this is sustainable. In the 'Cloud Spanner: Create a Gaming Leaderboard with C#' an error pops up declaring a build failure as the version of one the dependencies is required to be changed in the code provided. I request the people creating the labs to Please updated them so that we do not lose even more time on these issues. Hoping for the best.

@emily927 : I can observer the same problem. Pipelines shows in pending status. I have just tried the lab Vertex Pipelines: Qwik Start.

It seems all the Vertex AI related labs need a fix.

I ran this multiple times and kept monitoring for the tick. When the green tick finally appeared I let the lab run its course. Unfortunately I was not so lucky with the other labs...

After staring lab click on end lab you get tick

Thanks Aditya. This way you can get completed tick mark but still all the steps in the lab(s) is/are not completed as issue with the pipelines still persists.
I think it might may be due to too many Vertex AI pipelines in queue in us-central1 region.

Thank you for the update once more. Yes, the lab completion status has been changed, but the lab functionality bug has not yet been resolved. However, it's ok, we get our real expectation to gain knowledge from multiple good practices in the lab.

I work big hours during the week so I'll miss the cut off from the last challenge due to the glitch.Good luck to the rest of the players damn shame too I was pumped for the ml engineering challenge looked sick I work in industrial engineering why couldn't it of been the first challenge.

Issue with the pipeline is still there...but you need to wait for 5-6 mins(even more for some labs) to get the green tick. Hope this will help.

Hello ma'am @emily927  I am unable to attend this lab(  MLOps with Vertex AI ) anymore as I have exceeded the quota.

I have tried 5 times but 4 times it gets stuck, showing " STATUS: PENDING" while training and once only training got finished ,but at the time of deployment of model in this lab ,it stucked again showing" Deploying Mode" for more than one hour.

AND

In (Building and Deploying Machine Learning Solutions with Vertex AI: Challenge) also have some problems.

I have done all the labs smoothly, but these last 2 labs have so many problems occurring that maximum students can't complete

I have also exceeded the quota of 5 times , so I can't complete ma'am ,please help me out .

Please ma'am it's a very very humble request to you.

Reading thru comments, it seems like some folks are unblocked, but others are still having trouble. We've made a few more changes, so please keep the reports coming. 

You'll notice the dates on two tracks, data analyst and ML Engineering, have been extended. Please note, you may still see slower-than-expected load times, but you should be able to achieve your green ✅ and move on.

Cloud Composer: Qwik Start - Console 

in the Learn to Earn Cloud challange that I wish to get one more chance for this lab. I have lost all the chances for this because there were an error in the code encountered each time when I ran it. Now I am able to cure this problem. Please help me for doing this lab one more time. I've completed all other labs in this quiz except this. This will lead to rejection for getting the badge. Please help me for this
