Learn to Earn Cloud Data Challenge: An update + thanks

Hello all!

Dropping another note here. Starting yesterday we've seen a few more lab troubles popping up. We made some quick changes (but not a 100% solution). We are currently working on bigger changes that should roll out over the next few hours.

If you’re not seeing a problem - great! Keep doing what you’re doing. But if you are seeing a problem, feel free to skip the lab for now, and move on to the next one. (There's no required order.) 

Or if you’re ready for a break from labs, I recommend doing some reading or going outside or listening to a podcast or registering for this upcoming data spotlight. What's your favorite way to take a brain break? I'm a reader, myself.

Hey Emily

I'll have a break had fun on these challenges learned a few new things.All said and done the whole cloud skills is pretty awesome especially for newbies like me who are learning modern coding, machine learning and cloud computing from the Google team who needs universities.

The only sore point I have as a newbie and someone who wants to use google cloud as a customer once I finish learning how it works is automation and joining together services with scripts and containers.

I know most here are software it professionals but from people like me it's difficult if we could get more lessons and coursework or even recommendations in learning online for script and container design to automate in the cloud that'd be awesome while it won't help me I know there'll be someone else that'd see that and help them.

These are two outside classes I got from Google community Google AI for JavaScript Developers with TensorFlow.js by Jason in the Google ai team on edx and the app brewery on flutter and Web dev.

Without knowing how to design scripts for the cloud to automate pipelines the cloud is a very manual process and you can't make it hum like it should.

Hi Craig, i just read that you're thinking of giving flutter a try from app brewery's course . Angela is a very good instructor no doubt but i would suggest you to not buy that course and learn,as it was created in 2019 and is not updated according to flutter 3. Go with rivaan's YouTube channel if you like to learn while creating something useful or go with Andrea's paid course if you want to learn from basics.If you have any doubt we have flutter official discord server where you can clear all the doubts . 

Secondly Angela's webdev course is a must for any rookie web developer. You'll love it .

Yeah I grabbed Angela's flutter and webdev course, the flutter was outdated and I'm not from a it background I'm from a engineering tradesman background so I had a full day of trying to figure out how to update dependencies in the end I just started a new flutter project and just copied her lessons into it, that made everything update to the latest version.

Haven't started the web dev yet but if it's anything like the flutter course I'm looking forward to it.She is one of those rare teachers that make the subject sink in.I picked it up for the node.js and JavaScript.

I'll definitely check out the official flutter discord channel.Pretty cool you can write one app and push it to almost any device.

Just had the realisation when I started building the app I'm working on it's 1% front end 99% backend cloud.And there is so many languages in software.

Well that's enough of me ranting better get back to the study load.

Hi Emily, I am facing a severe problem with the Learn to Earn lab, I have been trying to communicate this to the Qwiklabs team via email multiple times, but didn't get a resolution. Hence, I am reaching out to you, and I hope I get a satisfactory solution from your side.

Also, I recently noticed that the Learn to Earn challenge, is put on hold from Qwiklabs side due to all these issues...

This is yet another proof for you that the badge indeed has issues, and this was the reason I was unable to complete some labs from this yellow coloured badge (machine learning engineering badge).

Kindly resume this badge for me, so that I can complete those remaining labs and complete the badge. I will be needing just one more badge, to complete my tier 2 prize. Please resume these labs atleast for 2-3 days, not more. And I know there are many more students like me, who are hopeful that these badges will be resumed at least for 2-3 days, if not till the deadline of the course. Therefore, I request you to resolve this issue at your earliest, and resume either one of the yellow colored/red colored badges or both.

I need to complete this Machine Learning yellow badge anyhow, as majorly Machine Learning is my forte.

Please understand my situation, consider all these issues from Qwiklabs side, & get this done at your earliest.
