Hello everyone!

Thanks for playing - we have reached the difficult decision to end the Learn to Earn challenge. We’ve been working to return labs to health, but the bugs are still swarming.

We’ll keep working on the bugs, but you’ve worked hard (and played hard!) to gain new skills and reach milestones. If you are eligible for a prize based on badges earned up to this point, watch for an email next week.

Speaking of prizes, we’ll be adjusting tiers. Previously you needed a minimum of four challenge badges to be eligible for swag, plus the pre-requisite skill badge. Given the challenge closure, we’re starting prize eligibility at three Learn to Earn Cloud: Data Challenge badges. You’ll still need the pre-requisite skill badge too.

You can review the badges you’ve earned in your profile. To receive email from us, please check your communication preferences and consider adding us to your address list.

I had completed the 4 badges for learn to earn with the prerequisite big query but the data analyst badges is missing from my profile I had mailed the support several times from last 9 days still issue isn't solved , if issues isn't solved I wont be able to get the swags irrespective of my hardwork.

I earned 2 badges and for the last badge, there was some issue in the lab. I contacted the support for 3 days and still the issue wasn't solved. So i almost did 3 badges and fell short of 1 lab. Is there anything that can be done. @emily927

I finished the Learn to Earn Cloud Data Challenge: Data Analyst Skills game but the first lab (Get Ready for the Learn to Earn Cloud Data Challenge) didn't mark as tick as I completed. So the blue badge didn't show up on my profile. Anyone else meet the same issue? Any way to fix it? Thanks!

Most of the labs in the Machine learning track ( Google Cloud Skills Boost ) needs to be updated. The code that we use in these labs are written using tf1. and its high time that we need to migrate to tf2, because it's more easy and tidy. [ for eg: The course 'Recommendation Systems on Google Cloud' in ML track begs to be updated : The tensorflow channel in youtube has more relevant content for recommendation system ].

A thought about updating codebase -- Lets consider an example of training a model on cloud, if the data (sample data) is put in a public repo and task/goal is mentioned in a readme file. The community could help in migrating to latest. You can then take the best code and replace the old code.
The part of code that trains the model in Cloud can be isolated and make it more relevant by adding links and helpful comments. Ultimately there will be a separation of concerns , right now every thing is crammed into single notebook and that's not neat.
If this is implemented , people could download the sample data (not the entire big data ) and work on a model before starting the lab. After understanding the statistics of data and creating a satisfiable model , one can come back , start the lab and focus on training the model on cloud. I think this is more efficient.

Google clout challenge was fun. The forum was filled with thoughts and hints rather that queries about swags.

@emily927 due to bugs, the data analyst badge is also not completed by me. the cloud composer: Qwik start console lab was not working. have posted about this in the community forum. But at last, nothing is solved. the program has ended. all the people's hard work is gone in vain.

For the last track last badge(SKY BLUE BADGE) i had completed all 7 labs out of 8 but 8th one had bugs so i didnot got the last blue badge 😔.just due to last lab's last task i was not able to complete the last sky blue badge. By the way ,EVENT WAS GOOD ,didnot expected such early closure.Looking forward for more such events.Thanks for organising such events and programs

One request I would like to make, i.e, please increase an additional OR option for the LAST PRIZE TIER (Any 4 badges + 2 prerequisite badges) by providing the SIPPER as an OR option.

We all have worked hard to achieve till that tier, kindly don't disappoint us. Many of us will remain grateful to you if you do this.

sorry but , you did wrong to us. how can you keep like the bugged badges in criteria . Worst experience with learn to earn. 🙃. you could have keep only green one , but the last one was bugged from starting . its unfair. did not expect that from google.

Nothing was wrong.. Every lab was working. We have completed all the labs.. And badges.. Due to server down it was occurring.. No one can do anything for this.. So please don't say that u did wrong

wait , hear me . 1st week everything was fine till end , 2nd week even on first day, i done all labs but the last lab was bugged so after trying for 2 days it still not got completed . and as per they said the badges were closed after only 2 days . if the badges were even open to play, we would have tried some different method and try to do it . as it was not even open so there was no chance to do a lab . so we totally got 2 days with bugs to do 2 badges , and if you think its was fair that we gave our time for the whole badge and the last lab broke everything . and the criteria even inculdes that badges . i dont know what make you think this was even a bit fair.

Totally agree with you. I completed 6 labs from both the badges and i was facing issue in 2 labs in both badges. I even completed the labs 3-4 times but because of the issue i was not able to get the badge. And now they are saying everything was working, so if everything was working then why they ended the event early?

@emily927 i already completed 2 badges and wasn't able to complete the 3rd one due to lab failure. And i am sure many of us are facing the same issue. Please make atleast tier-1 available for students who completed 2 badges. Else our all the time invested in those labs will go in vain
