Welcome to Team Cloud Acers! 🥳
Studies show that having a buddy (or more than one!) increases the likelihood of reaching a goal. So, as we focus on ACE certification, this is a space for you to chat with your teammates, answer each others’ questions, share resources, grow your network, and support & motivate each other (whatever your individual goals may be!).
This is meant to be lightweight and informal, but this is YOUR space so it can become whatever you like! And if you're more comfortable in formalwear while you study, well, I love that journey for you and so does our mascot:
Team Cloud Acers!
Some guidance: please keep it safe for work, within community guidelines, and friendly.
Let's start with some intros!
I’ll go first:
Thanks again to @Abhishek213 for the team name suggestion, and thanks to YOU for stopping by!
PS: ICYMI, here's the game link. Join with code 1q-study-458 and get ready to ACE your ACE (some subliminal messaging there for team choice, lol)
I chose team "Cloud Acers" many hours before this post was created. I have to say that I have certainly made the right decision. This team is amazing.
My important information.
1) My goal is to get google certified and find a job where such things are appreciated if not directly useful.
2) I don't have any Google certifications yet. However, there was this one time google took me on a mission to infiltrate Commander Lambda's evil organization, and destroy a doomsday device and save Bunny Planet. Google seems to hand out certificates for a lot less even if I do say so myself, .
3) In 5 years, I want a job where I get to distribute swag. These people are incredible but what job title is that?
I don't have any resources to share but I will advise people to have confidence in google's qwiklabs and pedagogical approach. In a previous life, I was a teacher and can really appreciate the art and science leading up to challenge labs. That doesn't mean I don't also get frustrated when those pesky labs don't validate but that is where study buddies can help. Good luck all.
Paul, this comment made my day! As far as swag distro goes, my experience so far has been: volunteer for the job. Get glowing praise. Realize the words "supply chain" can be scary for some people, and lean into the fear!
1) Get a full remote cloud-related job (preferably in a company using GCP).
2) Yes. Started my cloud journey at the end of May and got several certs since then. I wanted to explore the offerings and differences of the main CSP so I went from Azure to GCP to OCI and now I'm about to get my first AWS certification. I'm also participating in the GCP Summer of Learning 2022 to further refine my skills before attempting the ACE certification.
3) I don't really care about the title. All that matters for me is being in a position that allows me to constantly learn new stuff in an ever-changing environment so that I never end up stuck in a boring routine. Actually, a good title would be Cloud Swag Collector, since I aim to hoard as much cloud merchandise as possible (along with the vanity badges).
Hello everyone
It is fun to learn new things every day, even a small ant teaches us about teamwork. Learning new things is much more fun when you are part of a team where you get to know new people and there are multiple solutions to the same problem, as well as the opportunity to help each other.
My goal is to become certified this year; I will begin with the ACE certification
In my mind, I see myself as a life savior that will bring relief to the masses from diseases like cancer and AIDS. I want to be their healer.
That's awesome 👌 👏
Good luck 🥳
We all are with you 💙
Hello everyone!
Ankit here! I am an enthusiastic management student who is a self-starter and capable of using my management skills for the betterment of the organization. I am also an aspiring Full-stack web developer currently learning front-end development with various frameworks and also coding in Python. I want to become an Associate Cloud Engineer at Google cloud.
Associate Cloud Engineers deploy applications, monitor operations, and manage enterprise solutions. They use Google Cloud Console and the command-line interface to perform common platform-based tasks to maintain one or more deployed solutions that leverage Google-managed or self-managed services on Google Cloud.
Hi everyone,
It's so great meet you all here. Learning cloud tech is one of my hobbies, it's so exciting especially when receiving badges. My goal is the passing the ace certification. Let's get the cert all together 😆
Is there any one successfully deploy startup.sh in lab 1? I'm sure that I've use --metadata=startup-script=startup.sh into compute template. but it didn't work, so I need to SSH into instances modify webpage manually. If anyone solved the problem, please message me, thanks in advance.
Nice job Cloud Acers - currently in the top spot! No worries Brainstormers⛈ - there's still time for your sun to shine!
YES!
Can anybody help, please! @Abhishek213
The picture shows that it can not find the instance object, maybe you haven't set the environment variables.
the zone variable changes everytime.
