Click on Input Box doesn't work in View mode

I'm using an Input Box control in Looker Studio, and I expect to be able to click into the box and manually type a value to update a parameter.

However, in my case:

  • The input box is visible in View mode

  • It shows the correct label and default value

  • But when I click on it, nothing happens — the cursor doesn't appear, and I can’t change the value

  • It only becomes editable if I hold Shift + Click, which isn’t documented and definitely not intuitive for users

Did anyone fix similar issue?

That's certainly odd behavior!

I created a new report an added an input box, and I was able to click and edit it just fine. Do you find the same?

If it works OK for you on a fresh report, then there must be some other setting in your report that is causing the problem. Comparing the fresh report to your problematic report can help you narrow it down.

Hi,

Maybe you have another dashboard element (a chart or something) that is overlapping with your input box?

Does the input box work if you right click on it and bring it to the front?

Exactly the same issue here with input box. I'm using the new 'responsive layout' and there's no way to change order.

Same issue here. @patryg17 are you also using the new responsive layout?

@Beginner changing the order of the control is not possible in the new responsive layout.
