Our Looker Studio page we use for a Data Dashboard went down Tuesday evening. We have tried to reconnect to our same Google Sheet, and we are getting a Data Set Configuration Error. We are prompted to authorize the Sheet. We click "Authorize," and the page goes blank. Nothing will connect - including our CSV files.
I've been having the same issue since Friday 4/18. Has this been fixed for you?
same here, any solutions so far?
I'm still having the same issue. I work in an educational setting. What type of setting are you in?
Have you found any solutions?
Thank you!
I'm experiencing the same issue. 4/21/25. Anyone find a solution?
I removed the Looker Studio app from my Google account settings' Third-party apps & services section. I reconnected my data sources again; files from Google Drive are still not working, but reconnecting helped with Google Analytics and CSV files.
I did the same thing Kunture. CSV files connect after removing Looker Studio, but Google Sheets will not. I work in an educational setting and am on a managed network. What type of network are you on Kunture? Is there an Admin setting that needs to be enabled or permission setting that needs to be changed/updated to make Sheets work with Looker?
Hi! I'm working on a managed network as well (not in an educational setting), and I ran into a similar issue. In my case, the problem was due to some security settings set by our Google Workspace admins. They had configured restrictions that were blocking requests without a country indication, which ended up blocking Looker Studio from accessing Google Drive files. It might be a different root cause for you, but I’d recommend reaching out to your Google Workspace admin team to check for any restrictions on Drive access or OAuth scopes.Hope this helps!
Thank you so much for this response!!! I am sharing it with our IT Department. I will let you know if it works. Thank you again!!!
I am seeing the same thing. Dashboard that has been working for over a year, and now existing and new datasources are randomly getting:
i can go in and refresh them sometimes. but it goes back to the same error randomly.
Could it be related to the recent change requiring Google Workspace for Education Admins to confirm certain types of access for users designated under 18? We saw this happen in one of our client accounts recently - the account was part of an OU that had not explicitly been designated 18+ https://workspaceupdates.googleblog.com/2025/03/consent-reconfirmation-for-under-18-education-users-...
I am sharing this with our IT Department. Thank you so much for responding!
I forwarded the suggestions from Kenture and Laura Tilton to our IT Department. Thank you both for responding. Unfortunately, our IT Department says they have checked both of those areas and everything is set the way it needs to be. So, we are still not able to connect to our Google Sheets. Anyone else have a suggestion? Thank you so much!
I used Send Feedback on the help menu to report a very detailed description of my data set configuration error to Google.
Similarly, those solutions have not worked for us.
I'm experiencing thee same - and have found a work around - has anybody had any luck?
What was your work around?
I would love to know the work around too. We still cannot connect our data sources.
Thank you!
so sorry - meant to say - and have Not found a work around
