Filters seem broken

Hi there.

I started editing a dashboard that I've been working on and noticed that one of my multi-conditional filters seems to have broken. No underlying data has changed, no fields have changed, and there is no reason that I can see for this change. What's odd is that I effectively can't see the field being used in the filter (they're 'invalid') but the filter seems to still be working. I don't like the idea that these may break without me being able to know. I also already tried recreating the filters. That works, but once I set them, the same issue occurs. 

Has anyone seen this before? How might I solve this?

I'm having the same issue. All my filters are giving me an "invalid" warning even though I haven't changed anything. I even reconnected my database just in case, but I'm still getting the invalid warning.

Hey, were you using Parameters in your filters? 

Because I opened my reports this morning and found out all drop downs where I'd used Parameters to control reports are broken (Invalid control field) and I can't choose the parameters from data fields. Has Google broken something about Parameters?

Haven't touched the filters, or the source but they look like below.
For me, it is also suddenly a language mix between swedish and english.
Got this issue for both Piwik and Data sheets as sources.
Saknas=Missing
For the source Piwik PRO I can see the fields, and they are green and correct, but as soon as I select one I got the red "Saknas" (Missing)

The weird thing is that the filters still "work". What's even WEIRDER is that this is only true in one of my dashboards. I have another dashboard that uses a compound filter where this is not happening. Only difference is that the broken filter is a series of OR logic, whereas the one that is not broken is OR/AND logic. Anyone else have something similar going on?

I am having the same thing. I have been putting in multiple OR filters for Full Page URL to group pages for our work departments in Looker Studio. It bringing in the data , but also giving me an invalid. I also noticed that when adding the filters my current year data goes from (January to present) and switches to (June to Present).

We have the same filter issue. which is the reason the data displays is completely wrong now. and making us stop using the dashboard. like a service disruption. Do you have an ETA to fix and increase the severity of the bug?

Same issue! Filter seems to be working but the filter itself looks like all invalid / error. Makes it difficult to see what is actually working and what needs fixing.

We seem to be running into this at work too.

I notice that it seems like I can create the filters initially and hit save, but then when I go back into the filter it has "Invalid" on a red background, replacing the name of the field involved.

I’m experiencing an issue where certain widgets stop working when I group them with a filter (control). However, when I ungroup them, they work correctly.

In another thread a possible workaround was suggested. Use multiple filter instead of "OR" filters and it should be ok. This works fine for exclude filters imo because they can be combined. Include Filters don't work with this workaround unfortunatley.

This is not helping with multi-conditions, like exclude Device category "desktop" AND Operating system "Linux". 

The crazy thing I am noticing is that now AND works as it is a OR statement, and viceversa. I bet some dev just confused the two before publishing a new version. It tells you a lot about the quality of Google products nowadays. 

The number of bugs I experience in GA4 and Looker Studio in the past 6 months is disgraceful.

Only solution I can think of is to create a new field for each filter. Essentially, I think you could recreate OR/AND logic through CASE statements that evaluate to TRUE for the data you'd want displayed, and then create a single condition filter on that new field that only displays data when TRUE. 

Not really a solution as much as it is a workaround.

My hackey solution does, or are you saying the bug identified gets in the way of aggregated tables? In either case, how does it cause issues?

It looks like the engineering team has pushed out a fix that should take effect on December 17th. Check again then! I've also asked support about whether or not we will have to do anything and will update here if I hear anything!

I don't know if you can. I opened a ticket and have been in touch with support so not sure how you'd see that. I'll update here once I have news though!

Thanks WillyGolden for finding out the date of the fix! I checked my dashboards today and the issue seems to be fixed on my end now. I didn't have to do anything, the red 'invalid' message disappeared and the correct 'Page path' is back in place on my filters.

Same problem, and is anyone else facing this problem with the pagination in the tables, I go to the next page and when I generate the PDF it generates it from the first page, anyone else having this problem? Or do you know the solution please?
