Graphs of active users per day vs users per hour (Selecting the same day in both) the totals do not

Hello

Lookerstudio community, I am writing to you because I am just doing my first tests with Lookerstudio connecting Google Analytics 4, and I am trying to graph active users per day and another graph of active users per hour, both graphs consider the same date, the specific question is because the totaled do not add up, has this happened to anyone?
Thank you for reading me and giving me your recommendations.

@Carol0611
Was trying to reproduce your error using various days and it displays the data correctly for me.

One thing worthh of noticing. For yesterday date range it takes some time for the data to be updated using GA 4 connector so maybe this is causing the issue. I've seen this few times that same metric used withh various dimensions shholwing different results for yesterdays data due to hhow they are being structured and updated in the API source.

Please try to change the date for example to July 8. I am assuming all fieldds on charts are correctly selected with proper metrics.

Thank you for your comments, I made the changes you mentioned by selecting a different day than yesterday, the data is still inconsistent depending on the type of chart I want to use.

In lookerstudio I am using the data from July 12, and the total active users are 2022.

When using the bar graph showing the hours, I notice that it does not show me information for all hours even though I am using the same criteria to graph the information.

But using the hour chart within lookerstudio it shows me a total of 3,300.Carol0611_2-1721148200912.png

Now trying to identify if it is a data origin problem in Google Analytics, I went to this and made the table with the hours and active users using the same criteria and I see that it is different in the results shown in Lookerstudio. the table in GA4 is consistent with the total active users.

Is it likely that you have a sync or connection error?
Thanks and regards.

Hi,

Just giving my thoughts on the issue.

You are trying to show data from different time frames.

"Active users" (or just "Users") is the number of people who engaged with your site or app in the specified date range.

I think on a hourly time period you can count more than on a daily basis. Because it counts the active users  per hour separately from each other. But counted on a daily basis it counts the distinct users.

An user can stay on your site for a few hours and each hour the user is counted separately. But on a daily basis GA4 does not care how long you were on the site. It just counts you as one for that day.

Not sure if this logic is correct. I was going through a similar situation with the "Total users" and the users being counted uniquely based on the specified date range as well.
