How to Ask Effective Questions in the Looker Studio Community?

Hello Looker Studio Community!

I've noticed many unanswered/unsolved questions in the forum, and I believe these factors often contribute:

  • Unclear Titles: A concise and informative title is crucial for others to quickly understand your issue and decide if they can help.
  • Insufficient Detail: Provide as much context as possible:
    • Describe the issue clearly.
    • List the steps you've already taken.
    • Explain your expected outcome.
    • Include details about your data sources and connections.
  • Poorly Written Posts: Ensure your post is well-structured and grammatically correct for better readability.
  • Missing Visuals: Screenshots, Loom videos, and formulas significantly improve understanding and increase the likelihood of assistance.
  • Overly Broad Scope: Focus on specific, solvable problems. Avoid requests for extensive project guidance or custom code.
  • Incorrect Forum: Post your questions in the appropriate forum (Looker Studio or Looker) for the most relevant responses.

Remember, this community thrives on mutual support. By providing clear and concise information, you increase your chances of finding a solution. Most of us here have limited time due to our own daily jobs.
The more precise you are the better  🙂

P.S
I've shared my thoughts on this, and I'm curious to hear your own experiences and observations. What factors do you think contribute to unanswered questions in the forum?
