I have a valid and active data set that doesn't seem to be be fully compatible with Looker Studio. The data is being pulled from an Appsheet Database into looker. When I build the report, a text field stays blank in the looker report table column. Also, the table of data appears to be an older cached version where changes that I made over a week ago are pulling into looker. For example, A column I created and deleted is still appearing in the list of available dimensions, another column I renamed has not picked up the new name.

Is there a support chat or service I can reach out to for assistance?

Hi Laura, Thanks for the response, I've tried multiple refreshes and removed and re added the data link. Nothing seems to work.

There are problems with App Sheet integration with Looker, I used in the past not so long ago, and it causes a lot of trouble.

Not refreshing properly, detecting the data source not available at times, etc.

It is very usable, but definitely not a great experience sometimes, and probably with constant troubles.

There's no really a solution since we cannot do anything to improve the integration, but we can try to avoid using when possible. Like connecting directly to the data sources instead through App Sheet, but no workaround that I know for App Sheet Database at the moment.

Hi @angeltba , Thanks for the feedback. Do you know if there is an actual help/support forum for LookerStudio other than reaching out to the Looker cloud community?

Thinking about it, a more elaborated solution, would be to create your own Looker Connector or to use one from an intermediate Service/Connector, and use the App Sheet API to retrieve the data.

But you will have to check it out to see all the details.

I did not mention it at first, because it's not the best way, and most of the time not an option, but is there if it works for you

Thanks so much @angeltba This is really helpful. I am a Google employee so I have a full subscription for support... it doesn't seem very intuitive to request direct help; I kept getting bounced into the chat forum so started this thread. Thanks for sharing the link above. I was thinking of the intermediate connector but the reports have sensitive info so using an intermediate connector is no no. That said, the product should work as stated on the can. I'll use your suggestion and link above to seek direct support. Thanks again for the stellar perspective.
