Hi everyone, around a week ago the calculated field functionality stopped working in the Explorer view of a data source.
I can still click on Add Dimension, Add Calculated Field, and see the New Field dialogue box. But here you can enter a new name for the field but the formula area is greyed out with no ability to input a formula.
I've attached a screenshot - could it be related to the orange triangle that is showing next to my data source? I think that is also newly appeared.
Does anyone else have the same issue and/or a solution. Many thanks in advance.
Hi @AnthonyBates, thanks for your post!
The Explorer in Looker Studio is an experimental feature, and can be subject to sudden changes and certain functionalities might not work as expected.
As a workaround, you can try creating the calculated field in your data source, or creating the calculated field on a chart that uses that data source.
OK thanks for the reply. I will try the data source option.
Just to say I absolutely love the Explorer feature - to me it's the fastest way I can quickly get insights from a BigQuery table. I just connect and straight away all the data is there and very flexible. It would be great if the calculated field in Explorer view could be re-enabled at some point as I use(d) it all the time.
Thanks again for your assistance.
