Problem Overview: I am trying to create a consolidated table in Looker to track the monthly advertising budgets spent across multiple platforms (Google Ads, Meta Ads, and LinkedIn) for my clients. The main challenge is the following:
Client Identification:
Each platform (Google, Meta, LinkedIn) uses different names for the same clients, so I need to unify the client names into one standardized list to ensure each client appears as a single row, regardless of the platform.
Data Consolidation:
I have multiple accounts for each client on both Google and Meta. Additionally, each platform may have different currencies. My goal is to bring in the data from Google Ads and Meta Ads using Looker's automatic connectors (and SyncWith for Meta) to avoid manual updates.
End Goal:
I want to create a table that shows the monthly investment per platform (Google, Meta, LinkedIn) and the total investment for each client. The table should be updated automatically, with the data being pulled from the respective platforms without requiring manual imports from Excel or Google Sheets.
Key Requirements:
Unify client names from different platforms into one row for each client.
Automatically pull investment data from Google Ads and Meta Ads using Looker's connectors.
Convert and standardize currencies across different platforms.
Create a dynamic table that tracks monthly spend by platform and shows a total spend per client.
