Problems downloading a report

I set the data of that specific campaign on which I have to make the report, I set the date range, but when I export the report in pdf the exported data are from another campaign despite the fact that on Looker I see the correct data, how can I solve this problem? Every time I have to report on this specific campaign, it's a mess

I am running into a similar issue. Regardless of which of my accounts I select, when downloading the report it defaults to a different account every time. We have tried across 11 different devices, multiple reports, and multiple different accounts.

Same issue here.

I too am under the scope of this issue. It seems i am once again, at a loss when it comes to using looker studio.

We have the SAME issue - This is affecting ALL LookerStudio reports we have (there are many) that we have been using for well over a year, in several cases years, without issue.

We use the default Google Ads connector and select 1 account from the drop-down list. Everything on the screen looks good, but when we download it any tables that contain Campaign data have ALL accounts, not solely the account selected in the data control.

What is see on the screen in the Campaign table is correct, what gets downloaded is ALL accounts.

What I see on the screen:

What gets downloaded (these are from completely different Google Ads accounts):

@Rick_E  I am unsure if tagging you is within the guidelines for this forum, but would you be able to escalate this issue to the support team over there to attempt a fix. It appears that multiple users are experiencing the same issue. Thank you!

Can we get eyes on this bug please @Lobo-Google ?

I'm having the same issue as mentioned, hoping for a quick resolve!

I have the same issue - In the preview / edit of the report everything is ok, but in the downloaded pdf data is from the wrong account ๐Ÿ˜ž

Any updates from Google on this??

Hi folks, sorry for the trouble. A couple of questions if someone can clarify:

  1. Do these reports use the data control to select different accounts? If not, how are you selecting specific accounts?
  2. Does the problem happen on only existing reports or can you reproduce it on a new report?
  3. Can someone please share a report that demonstrates the problem with us? (If possible, remove any sensitive data or PII). Be sure to use Owner's Credentials and share the report with Edit permission to data-studio-help@google.com.

1. Yes, they use a data control set to 'Google Ads' which always worked with no issues.

2. I just created a new report and the problem persists.

3. I'll try to get it done asap, but if someone else can do it right away that would be great.

In my case:
1. yes, it uses data control
2. it sure does recreate error if I copy / duplicate the template; not sure about completely newly created ones

I have multiple templates and in two of them there is such error, and in multiple others there is not. What I've noticed the common element of these two that it is the issue with the google ads data for sure (ones not using google ads are fine); and the second one is that each uses also the table with conversions list. (segment conversion type name)

Just checked if this is the issue with the segment conversion, but nope, without it there still is the bug. Also checked if there is the issue with a filter set, but also not.

1. Yes

2. Reproduceable

3. Email with example sent

FYI, to add some more context @Rick_E it SEEMS to be caused by the default data connector in the template we all use at my company.

We typically start with one of the Google templates. The issue is 100% reproduceable when using the Google Ads Overview template (I haven't checked the other Google provided templates)

HOWEVER, I just tried creating a brand new Looker report from a BLANK template with a new Google Ads connection, and that works as expected. What I see is what gets downloaded.

That said, I genuinely don't know how (or if it's possible) to get the list of ALL of our accounts (not just limited to 50 selected) without using the template from Google. We have nearly all of our Looker based reporting set to be able to select any of our accounts using that drop-down list of ALL accounts.

FYI @Rick_E did more testing and 100% confirmed this is caused by Looker's default data control with Google Ads selected as data source.

Affects both existing and new reports.

If I instead make a drop-down list of selected accounts then what is downloaded matches on-screen display as expected.

Not being able to use the default data control is a big issue for us, it is used in nearly every Looker report we have created. Hope it gets fixed soon! ๐Ÿคž

To add to this, in my reports the data source is set to

[Sample] Google Ads

Using the data control and selecting a client's ads account changes the data to theirs, but when downloading the report it shows the 0s from the sample ads account. This was not the case in the past and only started recently.

Interestingly, the issue doesn't happen when using a data control with Google Analytics - that downloads just fine, but has a different bug where the downloaded document omits the account name from the data control as can be seen in this screenshot: https://imgur.com/ogJg9H3

I've reproduced the problem on our end and the developers are taking a look. Apologies for the trouble.

BTW @jmedias I did notice the blank GA data control once during testing but now I can't reproduce it. Let us know if this always happens for you or whether it's transient.

Confirming the blank GA data control issue is always happening. I just tried from 3 different machines (1 in a different state via remote login) and the issue persists.

I tried clearing the cookies and reconnecting the data source, but unfortunately the issue still persists.

Any update on this?

Same issue here.

Same issue with me as well

The same with me but interestingly not on all reports. I haven't been able to catch what the differences are - they definitely relate to different google ads accounts - but nothing in the settings indicates the cause.
I tested:
1. removing all sources of danyh and adding new ones
2. adding a new report
3. changing the source to be authorized by viewer and not by owner
4. tried generating a pdf from only one site
5. tried deleting charts and controls

No result.

Do all of your reports make use of the default Google Ads data control?

That is what I found caused our issues. When replacing the data control with a drop-down list control, our reports then download OK. The issue with that is the 50 account limit, so we still need the Looker dev team to fix the data control for Google Ads.

I use the dropdown list control for choosing an account and there is still wrong account data after download.

@Jhana47 What field are you using as the control field for the drop-down list control?

For our report, we are using the Google Ads account dropdown field. Every report we download is showing as "No Data Set Access" despite being the correct account selected and data being displayed pre-download

For the drop-down list control, the control field is Account.

In case it helps, I've found that any report using the default data control w/ Google Ads - what we see in the download is the same as what we see before selecting an account from the Google Ads data control list of accounts.

When I made a report from Google's template, it showed the sample data in the download. (Even though I'd selected an account from the list and on screen it looks correct.)

Similarly, in the report that caused me to comment on this issue, we now see an error: "Insufficient permissions to the underlying data set." which BTW is new and really odd IMO. (I am logged in as the data source owner, and have admin access to our Google Accounts so I don't understand why that is occurring.) and again, when selecting an account from the default data control w/ Google Ads list, everything on the screen looks good. But downloading, it shows what we saw BEFORE selecting an account from the list.

Exactly the same on my end.

Additional info:
In some accounts the data of conversions is showing as almost correct, while other data is from the wrong account as it was. Why almost correct? Because conversions names are correct, some ammounts in the conversions are correct, but many other either have wrong ammount or show "0", while in google account there are many conversions. (I'm talking about the table list with all the conversions)

Hello,

I am still having that same problem. Now for more than a month. Is there any solution to this?

Anyone found solutions? Please share.

It still doesn't work for me either.

I'm also still running into this issue, is there any update?

Still broken for me as well.

I have few Google ads Accounts and few campaigns on each accout. Connection with one accout with all campaigns on it works perfect bot all other accouts are still broken. I spent many hours finding solution but with no result.

Only way I foud was to print via browser "print to pdf" function in preview mode.
