SQL Server versions

SQL Server 2017 is the latest that you support? Really? I have versions 2019 and 2022 installed on my machine...they are old enough for me, won't revert to 2017--

Any plans to support recent versions?

You can connect to Looker using SQL Server 2019 and 2022. The option is 2017+, meaning that later versions will also work!

Hello sam8, you answered here about Looker, but I would like to know about Looker Studio, how do I connect Looker Studio to SQL Server 2019

I believe it's the same situation!

According to the Connect to Microsoft SQL Server article, the connector is "compatible with earlier versions". This, to me, implies that it would work just fine with current versions of SQL Server. I'd recommend trying the steps in that article and see if it works for you!

If you read the very beginning of the article you linked, you can read this:
Supported versions

The Microsoft SQL Server connector uses the V7.2 JDBC driver. This
connector was tested on MS SQL Server, and is compatible with the following
earlier versions:

- 2017
- 2016
- 2014
- 2012

I see. I had interpreted "compatible with the following earlier versions" to mean that it was also compatible with current versions. But when I check the V7.2 JDBC driver page, I see that 2017 is in fact the most recent supported SQL Server version.

I checked our feature requests and there is indeed a feature request for connecting to SQL Server 2019! I recommend upvoting it.

I get the following error when trying to connect to SQL Server 2022:
"Error ID: 9f8c8f53
Sorry, we encountered an error and were unable to complete your request."

Could it be due to compatibility, or is this a different error? Is there any workaround while the feature request gets approved?
