Why does the data in Looker Studio not match with Google Ads?

Why does the data on conversions that Locker imports from Google Ads differ from the data of the Google Ads account itself???🤔🤔🤔 Some absurdity🙄

Here is the difference in statistics by age (screens). The dates are the same, there are no filters!конверс looker.jpgg ads.jpg

Hi there,

Here are some potential reasons why this discrepancy might occur;

  • There might be a time lag between when the data is processed and updated in Google Ads and when it’s reflected in Looker Studio. Ensure that the data refresh settings in Looker Studio are up-to-date.
  • Google Ads might apply data sampling, especially for large datasets.
  • Ensure that both Google Ads and Looker Studio are using the same timezone settings. A difference in timezone settings can lead to discrepancies in daily metrics.
  • If the discrepancies persist, consider using an alternative connector like (Text Removed by Staff)

1) since the end of the reporting period that we are looking at, five days have already passed, and the update period in Locker Studio is 12 hours. This is the first. And secondly, of course, we updated the report using the "Update data" button

2) regarding data sampling in Google Ads... Please tell me where you got this information from? I have been doing Google Ads for over 15 years and this is the first time I have heard about data sampling... As far as I know, Google Ads displays absolutely 100% of all advertising data!

3) regarding the time zone... It doesn't seem like a difference of a few hours would cause that much of a difference in the data. But please tell me where in Locker Studio is the time zone setting? I don't know of such settings, and today I looked through the whole Locker Studio again and did not find such settings. Please tell me where they are? I'm interested to see

4) do you mean that if you use another third-party import connector instead of the official import, then the situation will change and the accuracy will be 100%? Have you had this experience?

thank you!!

You're correct that Google Ads generally displays 100% of advertising data without sampling. However, data sampling can occur in Google Analytics, which might be confusing if you are integrating Google Analytics data with Google Ads. Here is an article about data sampling in Google Analytics: https://support.google.com/analytics/answer/13331292?hl=en

While Looker Studio itself doesn't have a specific time zone setting, issues can arise if you're blending data from sources in different time zones. If you're using a single data source, this shouldn't be a problem. However, blending data from multiple sources with different time zones can cause discrepancies. In my experience, this can lead to data alignment issues.

Third-party connectors sometimes offer better settings management and performance. You might want to try Windsor.ai. They offer a free trial without requiring a credit card, allowing you to access data for the past month. It’s a quick setup and could be worth a try to see if it improves data accuracy.

in this case, which we are considering, Google Analytics does not appear at all! The import is from Google Ads to Locker Studio, so there's no sampling there...

Regarding the time zone in Locker Studio - sorry, I didn't understand what you meant.

I am having the same issue. The ADS COST in Looker drawn from a single Google Ads campaign is double what is showing in Google Ads itself.
