week of the year issue

when I look at week of the year in looker or even BQ, I see the following

12/29/2021--- week 52

12/31/2021  -- week 52

1/1/2022 ---week 52 

1/2/2022-- week 52

1/3/2022-- week 1 

is there a way to reset the week count ONCE the new year starts?

The results coming from BQ and Looker are correct, so the challenge would be to create a custom dimension that behaves the way you want it to. What you could perhaps do is create a dimension that counts the days since the start of the year, then divide by 7. If you get the rounded result, that will give you a 'week number' where the 1st-7th of January are week 1, 8th-14th are week 2, etc.
