In case you missed it: Ask Me Anything about System Design Best Practices

On January 27th, we held the first session in our Architecture Framework Ask Me Anything series, which focused on how to apply the best practices and guidance outlined in the System Design Pillar of the Google Cloud Architecture Framework.

Omkar Suram, Program Lead of the Architecture Framework, led the session by outlining core system design principles, explaining how to apply them using a business example, and then answering questions live at the end.

AppSheet Office Hours: Platform and Community Updates

In January, we launched a new space dedicated to the AppSheet Community. Whether you're brand new to AppSheet or already an expert, it's our goal to provide a trusted space for you to achieve your goals with AppSheet, Google's no-code app development platform. Check out the AppSheet Community here!

We're also excited to reintroduce a monthly series of AppSheet Office Hours, where you can hear news, updates, and best practices from AppSheet experts, as well as ask any questions you may have.

Our first session was held on February 3rd, where the AppSheet team covered recent product updates and shared an overview of what's to come in 2022. The team also answered several questions that came in from the Community, including questions around licensing options, security and compliance, the status of feature updates, integrations, and more.

A complete recap post (including written Q&A and supporting resources) will be shared with the Community soon, but in the meantime, you can see the recording here.

Community feature updates in January

The Community Team continues to work hard to improve the Community based on your valuable feedback. Here are some recent updates to our Community features:

1. We've added a new capability that enables you to customize your Community profile avatar, which appears at the top right of any Community page, on your Community profile, and when you make a post or comment.

Changing your Community profile avatar is an easy way to personalize your Community identity. You can change your avatar directly from your profile page, or from your settings. See the steps to do it in the Accessing and Managing Your Profile article here.

Please note that if you already have an image uploaded as your Google Account avatar, any image that you select in the Community will be overwritten by your Google avatar.

2. To help you quickly find what you're looking for, we've updated the top navigation so that the text is smaller and you can also scroll to see options in a drop-down. You can see how the scrolling works in the Cloud Forums drop-down in the image below.

3. The Cloud Hub forum is now at the top of the Cloud Forums list. Since the Cloud Hub is a space for introducing yourself, watercooler discussions, and general cloud topics, we wanted to make it easier to locate and access, especially for newer members to the Community.

All the Cloud Forums specific to different product areas/topics, such as AI/ML, Databases, Security, etc. have not been changed. You can access them from the Google Cloud Community home page, or from the drop-down in the top navigation under "Cloud Forums," as shown in the images below.
