Features & enhancements

Item Description
Enhancement

AppSheet organizations are available to all eligible customers, including organization-level policies and support for non-Google authenticated users. See the Community announcement.

What's changing?

For customers that already have an AppSheet organization today, you may see a new domain-based team with users from your domains that authenticate to AppSheet using a non-Google identity provider. Please keep in mind that if you have multiple secondary domains, you may see more than one additional team.

For new and existing customers with AppSheet Organizations, any user from your verified primary or secondary domains that does not authenticate through Google will be shown in your domain-based teams alongside any group-based teams that have been created.

These users will be subject to the same policies and team settings that apply to your users that authenticate through Google.

Preview announcements

Preview feature releases enable you to try out new app features that are not yet fully supported. See Product launch stages.

  • No new preview features were released today.

The following tables summarize the preview features that are currently available.

Item Description
Feature AppSheet apps for desktop users (Preview)

The new desktop design, currently in preview, is optimized for desktop browsers, presenting a more complete view of information with a consistent organization and structure. The new desktop design lets users navigate their apps more easily and access information in context, and provides an efficient way to edit existing records without losing context. The legacy desktop design, enabled by default, provides an experience similar to the mobile and tablet device.

For more information, see:

In addition, the AppSheet preview program lets app creators try out new app features that are not yet fully supported. For more details and to opt-in, see AppSheet preview program.

Hi @lizlynch

Can you please work on an update? It has been requested for a long time.

Allow the appsheet users to switch from dark to light view, vice versa, using the Appsheet settings. Some usera might prefer it light while others dark. It is a key thing to let users decide how they will see their app.

Hi again, @lizlynch

Another simple thing, when typing a price column type, it would be good if the format was showing in real time as a currency type.

For example, if i just type 55, it will be $0.55 and the more I type it moves to the left as you can see in my apps.

Just asking for small changes. Can you help us users? Because our feature ideas haven't been taken into account for a long time.

Regards

@lizlynch

Im afraid there is no new update (release note) for the past 10 days .... or more....

I do not want to post a ticket to support desk (as it is in vain and waste of our time), so please forgive me to share new bug finding here.

Context(OwnerEmail) expression is NOT working on App Editor Preview window (Emulator) while it seems to be working on the actual app. Obviously a bug with App Editor/Preview window.

@Koichi_Tsuji - Thank you! I will pass this feedback on to the team. Remember, you can now provide feedback directly to the AppSheet team, as described here: Send feedback about AppSheet

@lizlynch

I found another odd behavior as well. Once we fully clear email (prevew as) field to be parged and sync in preview window, Context(OwnerEmail) starts to work. It is very much strange, meaning this is a perfect bug.

"Send feedback about appsheet" is not my interest as it will not change anything for us.  It looks like the same personnesl (as the support desk) should be handling, that means the reported issues will not be solved. So I stay away....

Hey Koichi, looping back to you to clarify a few things,

> It looks like the same personnesl (as the support desk) should be handling

No, it's not the case. We have a manual triaging process from another team to create bugs to the Eng team when it's a valid bug. But we are still working on setting it up. We will really appreciate your patience.

> the reported issues will not be solved.

In-product user feedback currently does NOT provide the capability to reply to users' reports nor guarantee the issue will be resolved just like the rest of Workspace products (e.g. Docs, Slides, Sheets, etc.). However, we do spend a lot of time to look into most report to understand creators' user voice. We encourage you to submit issues/feedback to in-product user feedback, community as well as the 1:1 support channel to help us understand how to improve AppSheet user experience, but it's totally up to you which one you prefer.
