Google Slides linked Objects auto update

Hi ,

Currently in google slides there we can add links from various outside documents ( Google sheets  etc ) but if any changes done to the linked google sheet , for reflecting the changes at the google slides we need to manually updates by clicking Tools->linked objects -> update all .

It will be very much necessary to allow ( at least an option to enable ) to auto update the linked objects so that the changes on google sheets will appear automatically at google slides .

This feature is much useful because we are using the google slides in chrome signage application also  which is linked to google sheet .

Regards

Hello

In addition you can't do that by script because for now there is only  a method to refresh by API Chart embeded in a Google Slides : https://developers.google.com/slides/api/reference/rest/v1/presentations/request?hl=en#refreshsheets...

If you want to refresh a Table from a sheets to be refreshed there is no possibility but you can join all the people that request this feature on the Issue Tracker : https://issuetracker.google.com/issues/64027131

Star the item to get informed when it will be fixed.

You might want to post this to the Feature Ideas section here. See https://www.googlecloudcommunity.com/gc/Feature-Ideas/gh-p/workspace-ideas-group, and https://www.googlecloudcommunity.com/gc/custom/page/page-id/Workspace-Feature-Ideas-FAQ for how to get access. This will allow it to be upvoted by others and possibly considered as a future feature enhancement.

If you are submitting a feature idea, be sure to explain the problem that you're trying to solve with the feature idea, not just the idea itself. For example, saying "when my users are trying to do 'A', they often get confused by the fact that the buttons to do 'X' and to do 'Y' look quite similar to each other, which leads to this unintended consequence" is far more likely to get fixed than a feature idea that just says "change the color of the button 'Y'".

Cheers,

Ian

Hi

Issue on issue tracker is still open for refreshing a table inside a presentation. No change?

Stรฉphane

The issue is blocked and still not resolved.

An option is create a grafic from table as a table

This needs to be done please what is the update?

Yes - is there a script or a function in Google Slides that a linked SLIDE will AUTOMATICALLY update from the original Slide?
- I have a slides that I make edits to; those slides are used widly across other slideshows.  I want to force ALL the sideshows to update when I make a change to the original slide.  I do NOT want to click "update" or "update all" on each of the other slide presentations.

Thank you.

Dear Indran, please allow me to ask you a question: There are two Google slide files: A and B.  I copy a slide from A file and paste this slide to B file. Then I edit this slide in B file and want to renew this slide in the original A file. However, when I click the renew button, Google always use the old slide in A file to replace the new slide in B file. This is very annoying. Do you have any solution. Thank you in advance for your time.  Bob Chin from Taiwan. (PII Removed by Staff)
