Dear All,
I wanted to know if domain admin of Google workspace for eduction plus" can do the following :
1. Restrict the email send and receive option for some users
2. As the storage limit is already set up if the user violates the storage limit automatically the gmail services should automatically prohibit the users from sending and receiving emails in the users gmail mail box.
If this can be done, it would be great help.
Thank you !
I believe my colleagues at other universities with EduPlus are using compliance rules to accomplish this sort of thing. I don’t know all the specifics, but I know there’s a small issue in that there’s a 3-4 day lag In reporting space used by a user, so that lag also shows up in terms of both disabling and re-enabling the user’s email.
Hope that helps,
Ian
I wasn’t talking about disabling users, I was talking about using the “compliance rules” feature of Gmail to block email. Sorry if I wasn’t clear about that, and sorry to be a little vague—I don’t know all the details.
@anilk Just found a write-up (thanks to North Carolina State University) of exactly the technique I was describing and how to implement it--see https://docs.google.com/document/d/1azKb5HsUZdQCiMI-vD99Nqr9pW8YOT533KUq6HHQqmE/edit
Hope that's useful!
