Hello all,
Our company currently provides some inline enhancements to the Google Calendar via a Chrome Extension that rely on knowing that the Google Calendar's DOM is in a certain state. Any updates to the DOM for new features or updates to the Calendar can sometimes break our integration. I was wondering if it is possible for me to set up a specific Domain that we have Google Workspace Service on that we use for testing to be able to have access to the Google Workspace Alpha/Pre-Release version of the Calendar and other features there before they are released to the public? We would then use that domain specifically to test our integration against the latest Alpha/Pre-Release version of the Calendar to try and capture any changes that could affect our Extension's integration with the Calendar.
Thanks!
Not really. Google very very rarely runs betas for new features. Your best bet is the roadmap (under NDA) or a Workspace account on the rapid release schedule.
That said, Google typically announces changes that could break integrations, like API changes, well ahead of time. Subscribe to the Google Workspace Updates blog to not miss any of those.
Thanks for the info, the way we integrate with the Calendar simple changes to the DOM that go un-announced break out integration. We are looking internally to try and mitigate any changes there from breaking our integration, but was hoping for a faster track than Rapid Release. Thanks for the info.
@nickclockwise there are firms like inboxsdk.com that create / maintain SDKs for Gmail, I would check to see if there are similar or if they handle Calendar. -KAM
Thanks! I'll take a look.
