Hello everybody!
I would like to ask a question regarding the end of "Less Secure Apps" support for Google Accounts.
As it stands right now, we have a lot of our Google Workspace users logging in to services using "Less Secure Apps" and, since this option won't be available anymore in a near future, we are trying to figure out other ways to authenticate.
OAuth2 Authentication is the best method, I guess. However, one of the services we use does not support this one.
Another good option is using "App Passwords", but here we have a problem: this option would require enabling 2-Step Verification fot the accounts, but most of the users do not have a cellphone number to do so.
So I thought about this: as an Admin for all the Workspace accounts, wouldn't it be interesting if I could create "App Passwords" for any account, even without 2-Step Verification enabled for that account?
I'm new to the forum and have not found too much information about this, but since Google announced the end of "Less Secure Apps" support, are there any other options to authenticate besides OAuth2 that are commonly mentioned and discussed in the Community?
Thanks in advance!
Solved! Go to Solution.
You can give each user a security key for 2FA.
Also, Workspace isn't immediately affected, but we will eventually.
