Changing emails used to access workspace

I signed up for Google Apps for Work in 2013 using the only Gmail address I had at the time.  Over the years, with each iteration of Google Business mail, I have added some aliases and even requested that my email be changed to one that I monitor frequently.

This has worked in most instances however, I am unable to change from that email with regard to my YouTube channel and for receiving notices about Google Workspace, like the renewals of the monthly payments, etc.

I realize I can't change the YouTube email but is there any way that I can get the notices sent to my Google Workspace main email that I use every day and monitor consistently instead of that very, very old Gmail address?  Thanks!  Cathryn

Got it, if you log into Workspace Admin Console with your Old Address, you can set a Secondary Address to receive those updates

  • In the Admin console, go to Menu and then Account and then Account settings and then Profile.
  • In the Contact Info preferences section, click Secondary Email.
  • Introduce an alternative email administrator.
  • At the bottom, click Save.

Hi @WickerWoman ,

Hope you're doing well! I think that the most cost-effective solution here would be to set an automatic forwarding on the account that you cannot change to your daily use account

OLD_Account -> (to forward all the incoming emails) to NEW_Account

Automatically forward Gmail messages to another account

An extra benefit of this, is that your old email will be acting as Archive solution just in case you need to preserve those notifications

Regards

Thanks for the reply MattDV, but my question was more about changing the email name from the old one to the new one. Not to forward but to actually change emails. How do I get Google to send the notices etc., to the new address instead of the old?

Hi Matt, This will means receiving mesages to the secondary email, but can I update the original email used for the account? I want to update : myself@mybusiness.com into info@mybusiness.com any suggestion? Thanks

Great! I'll try that and hopefully it will work, thanks so much.
