Domain Release Issue

Hi Everyone,

I’m really hoping someone can assist as I’m completely at my wits' end with Google Workspace.

About three weeks ago, I purchased a Google Workspace Business Starter subscription to switch over from Microsoft. The transaction went through fine, but I ran into immediate issues. Despite the subscription being active, I couldn’t access the apps included (Docs, Slides, Gmail, etc.). Every time I tried, the page would reload to the admin console without letting me progress further.

To make matters worse, I stopped receiving emails via Outlook, and Gmail wasn’t accessible either.

I decided to cancel everything and start over, involving my domain host, GoDaddy, to see if they could help. They advised deleting the domain hosting for email to trigger Google to release the domain records, allowing me to re-register the domain through Google Workspace.

However, my domain has now been stuck with Google for over three weeks, far exceeding the SLA of 48 hours to 7 days I’ve seen referenced. Despite repeated attempts, I’ve been unable to recover the domain or re-register it.

The issue is compounded because:

  • I can’t log in to Workspace, as the domain is deleted.
  • I can’t access support without a support PIN, which requires logging in.
  • I can’t upgrade to Enterprise support even if I wanted to, because I can’t log in due to the unresolved domain issue.

I’m completely stuck in limbo. This is starting to impact my business as I can’t communicate with clients, resulting in a loss of earnings.

I’m incredibly frustrated with Google’s service and don’t know where else to turn. If anyone has advice or knows how to escalate this, I’d greatly appreciate your help.

Thanks in advance!

@icrew  = any support here woould be greatly appreciated!

I don’t work for google (I’m just another workspace admin like everyone else here), so I can’t do anything directly, but a couple things you could try:

1) Check out all the various options for recovering admin access to your Google Workspace account at https://support.google.com/a/answer/33561?hl=en.

There are a number of options there including getting in touch with support as well as technical methods to prove to Google that you own your domain name and should be allowed to access the Workspace instance.

2) Try sending a direct message to @GoogleWorkspace on Twitter/X—sometimes they can help.

3) Hire a Google Cloud Certified Partner near you to help. See https://cloud.google.com/find-a-partner/?products=Google%20Workspace for the list.

Hope that helps,

Ian

Thank you for the above @icrew  - I appreciate it and will work through the prompts to see if I am able to resolve the issue.
