Finder with Google Drive

I have changed my computer and installed Google Drive simultaneously. With Google Stream, finder (the mac search engine) found my files on the drive at practically the same speed as on my hard drive, it searched by labels and, in the option 'search on my mac', it found files on both the HD and the Drive . Now the searches are very slow, it does not search simultaneously on the external and internal drives and does not find labels. Is it due to the new version of the drive or my new computer? Can it be solved?

I believe that google drive will need some time to build the database file. This will take longer, the more files you have. After the google drive database file is done and your new computer finish indexing, it should work like before.

If I am wrong on this, I'm sure that someone here will chime in and correct me.

I'll be patient then, thank you very much

You should reach out to your organizations help desk as well as they might have some advice.

It sounds like the issue might be related to how Google Drive Stream is interacting with Finder or the new system setup. The slow search and lack of label recognition could be due to a recent update or configuration changes. First, try reindexing Google Drive in Finder by going to System Preferences > Spotlight > Privacy, adding Google Drive to the list, and then removing it. This should force a reindex. Also, make sure that Google Drive is properly synced, as any sync issues can affect search performance. 1
