Fonts in Chrome have Changed

Our entire staff is suffering from a shift in fonts on their chrome browsers when they sign into chrome using our school accounts, managed by the Google Admin Console. The fonts remain normal if chrome is accessed through personal accounts while on our network so I am doubtful it is a network issue. One of the clients saw the change occur as a result of updating chrome. I am wondering if there is a setting in the Admin Console or if I need to uninstall the last Chrome update. By the way, I am unable to change the font in setting>appearance. It looks as though it has been changed according to the dropdown but it remains the same odd font. Any ideas?

The first picture shows the garbled font the second shows the font as it should be.

Have you figured out a solution yet?  My system has the same problem now.

I have not. It's an odd one. It has to be something with the managed account setting somewhere in the Admin console. I hope anyway.

Im having the same issue too. I think it has to do something with our school organization?

Well, since the managed accounts are experiencing the font issue in Chrome, perhaps there's a Chrome extension that's getting applied for those accounts thereby changing the appearance of Chrome when they sign-in.

Found out it was the open dyslexic font in the google admin console, had to delete it from the extension. Thank you for the info and managed to get my school one sorted! But dont know how it got forced installed on the organization.

That's fantastic! Thank you so much! In my case OpenDyslexic was not even turn on. But, turning is on and off again did the trick. I did it from my browser but am struggling to find the extension in the Admin console to I can fix the issue for all clients.

i have the same problem right now, but on my phone, where you cannot add or delete extensions, and not with a corporate accounts but with my personal... do you have an idea how the font can be changed back?

That's what I figured out last night as well.  Even though it didn't show as being enabled, I had to enable it, then disable it and everything was back to normal.

I had this problem. I went into the admin console for Google Workspace and discovered that the OpenDyslexic font extension was enabled (not by me!). When I disabled it and restarted Chrome the problem was resolved.

Would you mind telling me where you found it in the Admin console? I can’t seem to find it in there.

Try Devices > Chrome > Apps & Extensions, then have a look through your Organizational Units. I found it in a "Special Apps" OU we have for students with specific needs, but it was also in the School's Top Level OU, so must have been inherited by other OUs from there
