Having trouble setting up GCPW and associating the Google user account with their AD user account. I have followed the steps here https://support.google.com/a/answer/9796679 but get this message (No Domain User could be found for your account. Please contact your administrator.) When I attempt to sign in through GCPW on a domain-joined computer. Any suggestions?
Thank you, Steven
Check that you have added the Costume attributes correctly https://support.google.com/a/answer/9796679#zippy=%2Cadd-in-the-admin-console), this inculcates upper and lower case. You then need to ensure you populate the attributes for each user in the correct format (domain\username).
It all looks correct to me not sure what I'm missing. I have also tried different users all with the attribute set domain\username
That looks correct to me, I assume that they have an existing Domain Windows account on their PC and not a local account. If using GCPW for the first time since install, you will need an internet connection. If an AD windows account does not exist on the PC first, then it will need to be connected to the domain for the first set-up.
It is a new PC with only the local admin account. The PC has been joined to the domain and GCPW installed. When I try to login through GCPW using an account that has had the custom attribute added I get this message.
did you ever figure out this cause? currently having this issue.
When you set-up GCPW in the Admin panel, did you select which domains users were allowed to log into, you should also download GCPW from the admin panel as it includes the enrolment token? If you do not add domains, users will not be able to sign in.
As the user does not have a Windows profile on the device when they select to join the domain their profile will be created on the device, they should use their Google password to sign in which should be the same as their AD one if you keep them in sync.
