Google Groups Labels in admin console vs. Shared Labels in Groups for Business interface

I searched but could not find the difference between these two label types. 

In the admin console for a group, there are Mailing, Security and Dynamic labels and in the Groups for Business there are Shared Labels.

I get the use for Shared Labels but what are the others for in the admin console? I couldn't find any documentation other than a reference to the "Security" label and even that wasn't clear.

Those are 2 different things actually.

Shared Labels are actual email labels, like in gmail.

Admin console "Labels" are there just to help you figure out what the group is for at the glance. Only "Security" one has actual impact, here's more info https://support.google.com/a/answer/10607394?hl=en

I also noticed that in the admin console groups interface, you can filter by those labels.

Seems confusing that they are both referred to as labels. Maybe a more appropriate term in the admin console would be 'Group Type'...

Agree, either that or updating other one "email label" or both could be changed.
