Google Storage removed the 100gb plan (Google Play)

As the title says. I've previously had the 100GB additional package to my 30GB/month Google workspace plan. As of today, it hasn't renewed my plan, and Google Drive even says I can't receive email.

My only other option is to upgrade to "the smallest" package of 2TB?! (12US/month).

It's money out of the window for me, and I don't understand why Google Workspace thinks this is fair toward their long-time subscribers.

Please tell me there is something I can do, so I dont have to pay for 1800GB/space a month that I wont be using anyway...

@lunyg Unfortunately that's the only way you got if you want to increase your storage.

I do understand your concern and agree with you but that's the way google is moving.

This is wrong lol.... they always had these subscription options and they dont just suddenly go away. Google just HIDES the opyion bc they want you to pay more. You can see the downgrade options here https://one.google.com/changestorageplan

Dont spread misinformation.

I think you are missing the fact that we are talking about Google Workspace. Google One is for private persons.

@Organictrash I'm afraid one is a Google Consumer product.  This is a Google Workspace forum and Google did remove the ability to add storage add-ons to Workspace except for A) a license change or B) a 10TB pooled storage add-on.  See https://support.google.com/a/answer/12284220?hl=en for more information and note the Personal storage notice at the top.  -KAM

Thank you for posting this.  I got here because they hid it well, but with your link, I was able to get back to my 100GB plan.

Thank you!!  I upgraded for free for a few months to the 2TB until my 100GB expired and I was searching for the 200GB and couldnt find it anywhere.  You ARE THE BEST!!!

You shouldnโ€™t have given a false reply like this. Itโ€™s completely wrong. In fact, you should have come back to correct it, but you didnโ€™t.

As @Organictrash mentioned, the cheaper options are still available through https://one.google.com/changestorageplan

@ajojose33333344  Is exactly correct. The Google One storage plans are for consumer Gmail accounts, NOT Google Workspace (which organizations purchase in order to give their people access to Google's email, calendar, and productivity tools). This forum is for users of Google Workspace, and the plans on https://one.google.com are not available for Workspace.

See https://support.google.com/a/answer/12284220?hl=en for how to purchase additional storage for Google Workspace (or, as was discussed earlier in the thread, upgrade to an edition of Workspace that includes additional storage).

Hope that helps,

Ian

Makes me wanna buy a NAS server, it would be paid home very quickly.

Hope they will get some more price-friendly storage solutions for the solo entrepreneurs in the future.

I too had the 100GB Google Drive package in addition to my 30GB/month Google workspace plan for the past 5 years.  Suddenly, and without any warning/communication, Google seems to have cancelled my 100 GB package subscription.  It does not even appear on my dashboard anymore.   This is on top of raising the price of my Google workspace plan (now 2.x the price it was 3 years ago).  I now have no option but to upgrade to the next tier Business Standard subscription and pay double of what my current (increased) price is or somehow shrink my storage requirements from 130 Gb to 30 Gb!  I can't believe that Google would remove my storage package so sneakilu.

@RameshV2000 I am not saying I like the decision or the pricing but I will point out that Google has been notifying for years that the legacy storage plans would be going away.  I wouldn't agree it's been sneaky.

That said, what SKU/Workspace License are you on because they are bringing pooled storage which might help too. -KAM

I still don't get how Google can cancel my subscription unilaterally without even an email to me letting me that it was going to happen.   I only found out when I started to get warnings on my Google Drive that I was exceeding my storage limit.

I have the basic Google Business subscription.

@RameshV2000 I can only guess you missed the notice.  This was announced in 2021 and then put into place in 2022 and you should have gotten notices that you needed to transition.  It's really been a few years now and a quick edit to note they didn't cancel, they just didn't renew your product.

However, have you looked at pooled storage and if it might help/apply?  See https://support.google.com/a/answer/9214707?hl=en

All I can say is that there is not a single communication or notice that I have received from Google on withdrawing the 100 Gb Google drive package.  On the contrary, Google charged me my monthly subscription on 28 January and then unilaterally cancelled the subscription on 1 February and refunded the remaining days for the month to my credit card.  If that is not highhanded conduct by a dominant technology provider I am not sure what is!

The pooled storage options don't help.  Google has systematically raised prices for its business users (2x in 3 years) and tiered the subscriptions such that there is no intermediate step between 30 GB storage and 1 TB.  Once again, the behaviour of an arrogant company that is abusing its dominant position.

The same goes for me.  The cacellation notice was the first I heard of this 100GB plan going sway.  I'm sick of all this getting jerked around for legacy, Google Apps for Your Domain users.  Give me a convenient way to move all of my data to a consumer account and I'll happily leave Google Workspace.

@RameshV2000  and @istwok didn't miss the notices. I know because I had exactly the same experience! I've had a gmail with my own domain name for the past 5 years, plus purchased 100GB cloud storage. I've no idea of the difference between workspace and Google One and other facets of google. I'm just a freelance i.e. self employed guy and for me my gmail is both a personal and work email, but I'm not a corporation with offices, employees and stacks of money. There are millions like me. But suddenly, and without any warning/communication, Google cancelled my 100 GB cloud package subscription! That's definitely sneaky!  AND it wasn't just not renewed, it had been renewed automatically only a months ago. It was CANCELLED by Google midway through the subscription without warning! Which is potentially illegal, but a lawyer would definitely cost more than ยฃ15.99 so sadly  it's not worth challenging it. AND I started to see constant warning bars that my Gdrive was going to be put in a read only state unless I deleted the 100GB of storage I'd subscribed for, like I was the one at fault! I was forced to delete the 100GB and then the deadline came , and my Gdrive was put in a read only state anyway! That was 3 weeks ago. I'm still trying to get my Gdrive back working properly. Have emailed and spoke to several Google staff and they keep shunting me backwards and forwards between Google One support and Workspace support. It's utter confusion and nobody seems to know what's going on or how to resolve. They just want me to upgrade and over 3 times as much for cloud storage as I was before, which is insane! ยฃ15.99 for 100GB / ยฃ1.59 per GB per year via Google One vs minimum business plan on Google Workspace which is ยฃ5 per month for an additional 15GB / ยฃ60 for 15GB / ยฃ4 per GB per year. This is some of the worst customer service I've encountered. Definitely the behaviour of an arrogant company that is abusing its dominant position. Am seriously considering cancelling all use of Google and using alternatives. David

You can change your plan by going to https://one.google.com/settings If "Change Membership Plan" only shows upgrade plans (more storage than 2TB), then you can cancel your current plan (also available on https://one.google.com/settings ) at which point, the 100GB plan should be visible to you again.

if not just press more options, and that should be there

I still see it.
