Hello,
We are using Google Workspace for our employees. They are splitted across many countries, and some times, we use shared account for administration purposes. However, since a few weeks, every time some users try to connect to their Google Account, they are asked to provide a phone number.
The problem is that Google keeps asking them a phone number, which can no longer be submitted once it has already been. This is quite unfortunate, especially since our employees doesn't have professional phone numbers : they have to provide their own personal phone number, which then can no longer be used on others services outside of the company.
My question is, can we disable phone verification with G-code, or is there a way to indicate that we trust these users and we do not want to enforce additional verifications for them ?
That would be greatly helpful.
Best regards.
Hi @MaxJml1 ,
So this is an expected behavior that you will be presented with login challenges since you are logging in from different countries to a single account.
The below article gives you what else you can do here when your user don't have a corporate phone.
The options given are to use employee code as a login challenge [1] and to use backup codes, I don't really recommend using backupcodes in this scenario still if its comfortable for you can go ahead with it.

You can also setup the 2 step verification using authenticator app which is also a feasible idea here I guess.
Hope it helps, let me know if you have any further clarification/queries.
Hello,
Thank you a lot for your answer. This is very effective and indeed, will greatly improve our productivity in the future.
Best regards.
I will also call out that
> ... and some times, we use shared account for administration purposes
could result in your account being suspended indefentinfely as per the acceptable use policy, please take some time to review this with your policy teams.
