Google chat inline topics are so bad can google fix this.

The new google chat inline threads are so bad, its now impossible to use google chat. 

If google cant bring back the topics, then what other chat system do you reccomend.

As far as I know, they are not bringing it back. But please feel free to submit in-product feedback about this.

I totally agree!
Product Managers haven't done a proper job on that application for years now.
They could cause us to definitely move to another service like Slack or Teams unless they take this product more seriously.

This update ruined our communication platform. We can't locate all the information stored in our chat properly, and can't keep using Google chat. So a lot of data will be lost in our migration.

Google chat was superior to other chat services specially because of the Topic view, which kept conversations organized and kept most relevant/recent topics easily accessible. I'm clueless on why having it discontinued..

This update has caused my myopia to increased a couple of degrees and my analytical brain hemisphere to wrench. Despite the fact that I've been using Google chat for a few years, and that I try to make chat Home my permanent residence when online, I keep struggling with the new mandatory change. I miss messages and mentions and it takes real effort to find the thread you've been chatting in a few hours ago.

Chat is a tool that is supposed to help you communicate easier and be more productive. This new change makes me feel that I'm walking underwater when I use Google chat.

As Penelope mentioned, the best place to get this feedback would be through the use of the in-product feedback mechanism in Chat and we encourage users to keep sending this feedback. We do continue to monitor feedback as Chat evolves.

That being said I do want to be clear that the decision has been made and we have no plans of rolling back to topic-based spaces.

We do have many new features that are coming that will address a lot of the feedback users have provided with this new system, and those will be launching in the near future to improve the end user experience with inline threaded spaces.

Hi Kevin, its not possible to work as a team without topics. The inline threads are crap for teamwork. We need threads restored, we're gonna have to move to a different service if not fixed.

We made this announcement over a year ago, you can see it here and most customers have already implemented a form of change management to prepare. We are seeing multiple customers working very effectively with this change so I would definitely not say its impossible to work as a team without topics.

We are looking at moving to a different service, google without threads is bad for teamwork. Someone took a perfectly good chat system and wreaked it.
