I want to add the user by default to Bcc when I click Compose in the Gmail.
I donโt think thereโs any way to do that. But if the reason is to make sure you preserve a record of all the emails, check out the Google Vault service at https://workspace.google.com/products/vault/ for another, better, way to do that.
Hope that helps,
Ian
Not from within Gmail. You could set up content compliance rules in the admin console that matches certain emails and then add a custom bcc header to each email (or simply use the "Add more recipients" rule action).
I also have that need, for a specific email group.
If a client reaches us, and someone within the group replies, every one on the group needs a copy of the outgoing message.
I did tryed doing this.
Apps > Google Workspace > Gmail Config.> Compliance
1. Affected messages: Outbound
2. Add expressions that describe the content you want to search for in each message.
If ANY of the following match the message
Matches: <GroupEmailThatNeedsBCC@MyCompany.com>
3. If the above expressions match, do the following
Also deliver to
Deliver to: <GroupEmailThatNeedsBCC@MyCompany.com>
Do not deliver spam to this recipient
Suppress bounces from this recipient
unfortunately this is not working for me.
also, I dont get how "also deliver to" is interpreted as BCC.
I followed this tutorial: (Site Removed by Staff)
Thanks for the details! Worked for me
I tried this and then every email that I sent got copied to the group, even when I did not send from the group email
