I can't receive mail from external domains in Gmail?

I have transferred by domain a long time ago to Google Workspace along with MX Records. I have several emails at this domain that send and receive emails fine in Gmail. I have one email at my domain that I want to add. Currently, I have it setup in Gmail collecting mail via POP3. This was able to harvest my old emails and this connection can also receive emails from email addresses on the same domain. It cannot receive emails from email addresses outside this domain. So currently I am unable to set it up as 'Send as' email as I can't receive the verification code email from Google. 

Namecheap have looked into my problem and suggested I post in the forums here (I replaced my domain name for privacy reasons). 

"Since the domain uses the correct MX records (aspmx.l.google.co; alt1.aspmx.l.google.com; alt2.aspmx.l.google.com; alt3.aspmx.l.google.com; alt4.aspmx.l.google.com), the Email Routing is set to the correct 'Remote Mail Exchanger' option and your other (at)mydomain.com email accounts work correctly, the email configuration for the domain is correct.

The issue appears with the specific support(at)mydomain.com mailbox only."

I have looked for similar problems, but can't find any help. Why am I not receiving emails from outside my organization to this email?
