Is Google Workspace a good option for solopreneurs?

I have been testing Google Workspace (GW) for a while and still a bit confused, I can see some benefits for me as a one person company, mainly the professional email (with calendar integration across devices) and Google Meet as an alternative to Zoom/MS Teams. But also I can see GW has its power on internal collaboration, what about collaborating with non-GW externals?

Before moving into a fully paid version, I was wondering if there are good alternatives for solopreneurs and what's the best version of GW? I came across this one: https://workspace.google.com/individual/ but not so sure what's the difference with other standard versions and why it is not offer in their main package page.
Thanks for the help.

Workspace individual gives you some of the workspace capabilities, but using your @gmail.com account, not an account from your domain.

My wife is also a solopreneur, and quite happily uses Business Standard for her work. Many of the companies she works with also use Workspace, so it works pretty well. That said, if you happen to know that your primary corporate client(s) or your particular industry tends to be more Microsoft-centric, Microsoft365 might be a better choice for you.

If you're working with individual consumers, Workspace works really nicely, as pretty much everyone has a Gmail account, and Gmail accounts integrate pretty seamlessly into Google Services (you can shared files/folders/documents with them, you can invite them via Calendar, etc.).

In terms of videoconferencing, my wife does also have a Zoom subscription, because that tends to be much more common/much more familiar to most folks than Meet.

Hope that helps, at least a little,

Ian

Thanks a lot. These are very helpful insights. I was trying hard to stay away from Microsoft...but that might be a more "compatible" route. I remember that the last corporate I worked for didn't allow any access to Google (Gmail, Drive, etc.).
